Ian Anderson, a self-taught designer who founded The Designers Republic™ on Bastille Day 1986 is the guest speaker at the next Design Friends event.
The Designers Republic ™’s work is credited with “defining the visual language of late 20th-century dance music, techno and the post Playstation WipEout gaming generation” according to the Design Friends programme notes. The company has designed nearly 5,000 record sleeves, and Anderson has lectured to around 100,000 people around the world and had over 30 ‘solo’ TDR™ exhibitions. A TDR™ documentary “Work Buy Consume Die” has also been made. Our photoi shows a TDR exhibition at the GGG gallery in Tokyo in 2011.
As always, entrance is free though non-members are encouraged to sign up to be a Design Friend on the night.
