One of the Philharmonie’s current artists-in-residence, Daniel Harding, leads the OPL in concert.
Gustav Mahler’s "Fifth Symphony” is one of the composer’s most popular and enduring works, even more so since its “adagietto” featured as a main theme in Luchino Visconti film of Thomas Mann’s “Death in Venice”. Daniel Harding (photo Julian Hargreaves) will conduct the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg in a performance of the iconic work.
The concert opens with trumpeter Håkan Hardenberger as the soloist in a performance of Bernd Alois Zimmermann’s “Nobody knows de trouble I see” concerto
The concert is preceded by an “artist talk” between Harding and the Phil’s Matthew Studdert-Kennedy.
