Catch majestic jazz vocalist Zara McFarlane when she gives an intimate concert in the Philharmonie’s chamber music room.
Likened to Nina Simone and Cassandra Wilson, the London singer shot to fame after she was awarded “Best Jazz Act” at the 2014 Music of Black Origin, Mobo, awards. Now with three albums under her belt (Until Tomorrow, 2011, If You Knew Her, 2014, and Arise, 2017), she has a veritable trove of hits to perform.
During her 2014 tour, “The Guardian’s” John Fordham praised her for her “magnetic eloquence”. He was equally favourable of her third album, saying that McFarlane “has rarely sounded more comfortable with herself and with jazz.” It promises to be a memorable concert.
