A commemorative tour of the country recalls the two liberations of Luxembourg.
The Keystone in the Way tour will set out from Ettelbruck at 8am and take in the towns and villages of Diekirch, Consthum, Hosingen, Weiswampach, Wiltz, and Clervaux. The tour marks the 75th anniversary of the 1944-1945 Battle of the Bulge (photo Matic Zorman), in which German troops who had been pushed out of Luxembourg launched a counter attack, catching the allies off-guard.
The tour shows the role played by the twenty-eighth US Infantry Division, for whom the red keystone was their symbol and badge. The tour includes various ceremonies and unveilings. All are open to the public.
