The Asteroid Foundation returns with a live digital version of Asteroid Day from Luxembourg.
Each year Asteroid Day presents the public with a snap-shot of cutting-edge asteroid research from the largest telescopes on Earth to some of the most ambitious space missions. Topics of discussion this year include the acceleration in the rate of our asteroid discoveries and why it is set to accelerate even faster, the imminent arrival of samples from asteroid Ryugu and Bennu, the exciting preparations for the joint US-Europe mission to binary asteroid Didymos, and much more.
Asteroid TV is live now until the big day on 30 June when panel discussions and one-on-one interviews with astronauts and world experts will be broadcast.
Internationally renowned astronauts and scientists and celebrities like astronaut Rusty Schweickart (pictured by Matic Zorman at Asteroid Day gala event in Luxembourg in 2019), musician Peter Gabriel, “science guy” Bill Nye and actress and neuroscientist Mayim Bialik join local figures including economy minister Franz Fayot and Luxembourg Space Agency CEO Marc Serres as guest speakers.
