Lots of people have been tweeting or blogging about the best series of films to watch during lockdown, but local resident Matt Gambrill has taken it a step further.
While stuck in lockdown Matt Gambrill thought he’d look at how the movies deal with plagues and pandemics. Over at Corona Movies – The Luxembourg Edition he has curated a daily review of some of the best films about the subject ranging from Steven Soderbergh’s frighteningly prescient “Contagion” (photo) which the whole world seems to have watched recently judging from its Netflix popularity rating, to more obscure 70s fare like Robert Wise’s “The Andromeda Strain” (which scared the bejesus out of an 8-year old Delano writer at the time).
Gambrill’s reviews are not only insightful and witty--they recall the style of the great Joe Bob Briggs--but he also adds his imagined Luxembourg version of the film at the bottom of the page. We love the one for “28 Days Later”.
