Hot actor of the moment Andrew Scott’s performance of “Sea Wall”, written for him by Simon Stephens, is available to watch now.
Andrew Scott, who is familiar to fans of “Sherlock” as Moriarty and of “Fleabag” for his portrayal of the “hot priest”, first performed “Sea Wall” in 2008. It was revived on stage at the Old Vic in 2018.
The film version, made in 2011, was shot in a single take. The half-hour monologue sees Scott play a man trying to make sense of his life, love, family and the possibility of faith whilst facing an emotional abyss. It has mesmerised audiences and critics alike, with What’s On Stage saying that the revival was Scott going “from being a great actor to being one of the greats.”
