Even though covid-19 has led to cancellations of major events, the capital is hosting a number of attractions this summer.
For instance, a giant big wheel and a “lounge” bar have been installed on the Kinnekswiss in the city park (the meadow area near the Glacis). The “Theaterplage”, the artificial beach area on the place du Théâtre in the centre of town, is also back.
And the city centre will also host a number of small fairground attractions through to 13 September in the Parc Villa Vauban, at the crossing of Grand Rue with rue Aldringen, at the “Piquet” open space near the rue de la Poste, at the Roude Pëtz (near the shepherd fountain on the Grand Rue, and on the Square Jan Palach just off the place d’Armes.
And the traditional guided tours of the grand ducal palace (photo LCTO) are also up and running until 30 August.
