Contemporary choreographer Wayne McGregor brings ten dancers to perform “Atomos”, a work described as “sculptural, rigorous, jarring and hauntingly beautiful.”
For this piece, McGregor worked with neoclassical ambient composers A Winged Victory for the Sullen, featuringAdam Wiltzie (who has worked with such luminaries as Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev) and pianist Dustin O’Halloran. They have created a soundtrack that Pitchfork describes as “pensive melancholy shading into physical menace”.
Using cutting-edge technology that included mapping the dancers biometrics and designing digital skins and working again with long-time collaborators lighting designer Lucy Carter and filmmaker Ravi Deepres, McGregor delivers what The Observer calls “thrilling flights of grandeur and lyricism.”
After the Friday performance, the audience will have an opportunity to meet the dancers.
