British instrumental rock outfits Codes In The Clouds plays Rotondes this weekend, and Delano has pairs of tickets to give away to our readers.
Hailing from Dartford in Essex, instrumental quintet Codes In The Clouds (photo Magda Wrzeszcz) have released three albums and a handful of EPs since forming in 2007. The band’s eponymously titled latest opus was the result of six years of writing, recording and post-production. It has been likened to the sort of music made by Explosions In The Sky, with the band hailed as an outfit who “can handle a patient build” and purveyors of the “euphoric post rock genre.” Take a listen on the band’s Bandcamp page, or watch a clip from a live performance in Brighton last year.
Support comes from VLMV (pronounced ‘ALMA’) which is fronted by Codes In The Clouds songwriter and guitarist Pete Lambrou and fellow band member Ciaran Morahan. They play “ambient-ish post-something” deploying loop stations, multiple delay pedals, piano and strings.
