The “Concours national des crémants de la France et du Luxembourg” took place in a covid-friendly format, with a grand tasting event replaced with regional juries who tasted 70 different types of crémants in five categories, including blanc brut, blanc brut millésimé, rosé brut, blanc de noirs brut, and special cuvées.

Winemakers from Alsace, Bourgogne, Bordeaux, Limoux, Loire, Die, Jura, Savoie and Luxembourg Moselle vied for recognition in the competition.

The gold medals for Luxembourg were split between Caves Gales, Caves Krier Frères, Domaine Mathes, Domaines Vinsmoselle (Poll Fabaire), Caves Desom and Caves St Martin, who each won in several categories.

The silver medals went to Caves Gales, Domaine Viticole Schumacher-Knepper, Caves Desom and Domaines Vinsmoselle (Poll Fabaire).

Luxembourg produces around 3.5m bottles of crémant annually.
