Venues in Diekirch and Ettelbruck will hold 7 concerts by 10 groups in 4 days, all performing a capella, a style of singing without any instrumental accompaniment. It’s all part of the Festival A Cape’lla, now in its 3rd edition.
Luxembourg groups Les Jeunes Qui Chantent and Luxembourg Jazz Voices will be part of the festival. Joining them in the packed lineup are The Swingles, The Beatbox Collective (UK); Singer Pur, Voix Claires (Germany); The Real Group (Sweden, pictured above); Trio Mediaeval (Norway). The international group The Single Singers, a group which was founded during a similar festival in London by a group fo individuals who had been at the festival solo but wanted to sing, will also take to the stage.
In addition to a range of concerts, there will also be workshops available.
Passes for the full Thursday-Sunday programme run €100, or €70 for the Saturday-Sunday pass. Rates drop for those under 26 years of age to €50 and €35, respectively. Single tickets may also be purchased for individual concerts.
Concerts are held at the Centre des Arts Pluriels Ettelbruck (CAPE, address noted below), or at the Alte Kirche Diekirch at 5, rue du Curé, L-9217 Diekirch.
