Women’s empowerment platform CID Fraen Gender hosts a series of “knowledge shots” in Luxembourg to explore themes related to feminist and gender-related research.
This English-language event welcomes Tammy Schmit, who has a degree in anthropology and political science from the University of Birmingham. She will speak about her dissertation “Exploring the role of women in popular culture: A feminist anthropological approach to Disney princesses.”
Tammy says of her work that it “traces the shifting ways in which Disney films have shaped and responded to Western ideas of gender and what it means to be a woman.”
The event consists of a 30-minute talk followed by Q&A and an open discussion. CID will provide water and coffee. Attendees may bring their own food.
