New World Theatre Club is putting on “The Ripple Effect”, which it will take to the FEATS theatre festival in late May.
NWTC’s latest production sees Chris Wilson and Valerie Scott, the latter making her debut as director, teaming up to direct Robert Scott’s one-act play “The Ripple Effect”. The four-hander stars seasoned NWTC performers Christine Probst, Victor Bonanno and Kim Hermans as well as new arrival Rachael Singh.
The play centres on 30-something sisters Eva and Nicola, who have supported each other since losing their parents when they were young. When Eva meets the man she holds responsible, it is up to Nicola to try to stop her spiralling out of control in her quest for retribution. Tackling themes of revenge and destiny, the play explores how life can change in an instant and challenges us to consider how much control we actually have over our future.
Following the Luxembourg performances, the play will be performed at the Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies in Ottobrunn, near Munich, where it will compete with 11 other one-act plays by English-language theatre groups.
