The role will be shared by Starsky Flor and Marie-Paule Dondelinger, the party announced on its Facebook page during the European Pirate Congress in Luxembourg-Belair.

Clement co-founded the Pirate Partei in 2018 out of a dissatisfaction with the lack of transparency in politics and opposition to video surveillance.

Clement’s hard work paid off and, in the 2018 legislative elections, his party won 5% of the vote and their first two seats, occupied by Clement for the centre and Marc Goergen for the south.

The two successors will also stand as candidates in the European elections, scheduled for May. They will be joined by Daniel Frères, Christian Welter, Chris Bernard and Lucie Kunakova, according to Paperjam.

Kunakova remains the party treasurer while Goergen was elected to the role of party coordinator.
