By 12 August, some 5,778 people had signed petition 1329 calling for people with reduced mobility to be eligible for free public transport, in the same way as those with full mobility will benefit from March 2020. People with disabilities were not covered by the new law if using the fleet of specially-adapted, on-demand Adapto buses. On this service, travel costs €5 for a single ticket and €8 for a same-day return.

Whether it was the scorching summer temperatures or general dissatisfaction with the cost of living in Luxembourg, Petition 1319 struck a chord. It calls for bars and restaurants to be obliged to offer tap water had reached 3,758 signatures. It closes on 30 August. Petitions must garner at least 4,500 before they close in order to be discussed in parliament.

Anyone may sign a petition in Luxembourg provided they are aged 15 or over and have a social security card for Luxembourg.
