Street parties have been organised in Luxembourg City since 2005 and bring neighbours together. They are also taking place in a few other towns--check the website or with your local council.Picture credit: Nopeschfest-fête des voisins facebook

Traditionally, the street parties are organised by neighbours in a street. It is a nice opportunity to meet and get to know the neighbours in your area--everyone brings some food and drinks to share. The city council puts tables and benches at the disposal of residents, as well as promotional material for fair trade products and the local elections.

The night marathon takes place on the weekend of the 27 May. That means people who want to organise their street party on that weekend will not be able to borrow tables and benches from the city.

The organisational material can be picked up at the “Service intégration et besoins spécifiques”, 42 place Guillaume II, Luxembourg-Centre (entry from the rue Notre-Dame).
