The 2018 Belux book, which features 90 Luxembourg restaurants selected and reviewed by anonymous judges, will go on sale in stores on 14 November at a cost of €29.

Its reviews, meanwhile, can be viewed free of charge via the mobile application--handy for diners on the go.

At the Luxembourg launch on 23 October, Gault & Millau crowned Yann Castano, chef at Oro e Argento restaurant at Sofitel Kirchberg, as Chef of the Year. Other laureates included Estelle Sidoni (Lefevre House) for Hostess of the Year, Fernando Andreu (Bosque Fevi restaurant) as Mediterranean Chef of the Year and Matthieu Vanwetteren (Apdikt) for Discovery of the Year.

They also paid tribute to Sandrine Pingeon who created Paniers de Sandrine, a market gardening firm whose quality produce are highly sought after by Luxembourg chefs.

The guides use a ratings system which undergoes a change this year with the addition of half points for scores greater than 15/20, the introduction of a thumb for restaurants scoring 12/20, and harmonising the toque or chef hat symbols between France and other countries which recently joined the Gault & Millau family.
