“The airlines are paying us to use our infrastructure but our costs have increased. We have grown, our operating costs have followed. It is therefore logical to adapt the requested fee. This is a normal process,” he was quoted as saying.

Flight prices are expected to be impacted as a result but by exactly how much will depend on the airlines, which are free to decide whether they pass the increase on to customers through ticket prices.

According to Paperjam, Luxairgroup will adjust ticket prices by a few euros.
