Some 27 attacks on emergency services workers were recorded in Luxembourg since January 2018, of which 16 were verbal and 9 physical attacks, according to government figures.

The bill, which was outlined this week, foresees fines of between €251 and €10,000 for offenders and a prison sentence of from 8 days to 5 years.

Luxembourg has begun an awareness campaign, dubbed “#Respekt112”, to further protect frontline emergency workers.
