Luxembourg's Azerbaijani community demonstrated on the place d’Armes on 25 October Arslan Abdulla

The protest had been timed to coincide with similar demonstrations in support of Azerbaijan around the world. Organisers say around 100 people stood silently in the square for three hours, holding placards and images highlighting Armenian missile attacks on Ganja, the second-largest city in Azerbaijan, which they say have claimed the lives of 26 civilians and injured scores more. The demonstration was organised by the Azerbaijan-Luxembourg Friendship Association.

Placards featured slogans such as “Pray for Ganja city”, “Justice for Azerbaijan”, “Stop bombing civilians” and “Children do not play war”--the protestors also placed children's toys, clothes and shoes next to candles on the square to highlight their suffering.

Luxembourg Armenians and friends of Armenia had held a similar protest on 6 October, and on 12 October Armenians from Belgium descended on the European Convention Centre in Kirchberg to protest at the EU foreign affairs council.
