That’s according to the “EBA report on high earners” (PDF) issued by the European Banking Authority on 11 March 2019.

The figures included salaries and bonuses.

While Luxembourg had 20 bankers on the European list, the UK had 3,567, Germany had 390, France had 233 and Belgium had 22. Nine countries--including Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Estonia--had none.

Luxembourg was one of the few EU countries where the number of high earning bank staff did not increase compared to 2016.
