New bus line to run between Steinfort, Mondercange and Belval starting September
A new bus line will soon serve Luxembourg’s university and research district, Belval, a year after two other lines were cancelled.
Responding to a parliamentary question, infrastructure minister François Bausch said that starting September 2017 a new RGTR line would begin operating between Steinfort, Mondercange and Belval.
This, despite two lines, of which one was the 332 (Arlon-Dippach-Belval), being cancelled a year before because of lack of take-up.
Bausch said this service would be reinforced by two planned BHNS superbus lines, expected to enter into operation in 2025.
Described by Paperjam as the “tramway of the south”, one line would link Luxembourg with Micheville in France, from Leudelange, via the A4 to Raemerich (close to Belval) and the other would connect Rodange with Kayl, Schifflange, Esch-sur-Alzette and Belval.
