The Belgian national worked at JLL as head of the retail business between 2016 and 2019 for the Belgian and Luxembourg markets. Earlier still, between 1991 and the end of 2015, he worked at Cushman & Wakefield, in charge of retail for Belux.

In recent months, Debourse was in charge of the expansion of the retailer Carrefour in Belgium and Luxembourg.

The Belval Plaza shopping center spans 37,150m² and counts 1,200 parking spaces. Its operator claims it attracted 6.5 million visitors in 2019. Last March, the asset management company Firce Capital acquired the complex from Propertize, the Benelux asset management platform of Lone Star Funds.

At the time of the announcement, Firce Capital's Chairman, Christophe Fournage, highlighted the high purchasing power within the center’s catchment area - on average €29,000 per year for the 225,000 people identified. “The Belval Plaza shopping center has an enormous potential for development and evolution,” he said.

Inaugurated in 2007, the complex now boasts some 40 stores, including a Delhaize supermarket, not to mention a few food outlets and the Kinepolis cinema complex.
