A notice on the website of the Krieger law firm stated the sale would encompass the entire building, including a non-transferable licence to serve alcohol. However, the business itself was not included.

The hotel is located across from the central train station on place de la Gare. Krieger said the structure had 69 hotel rooms plus a suite, a bar, restaurant, kitchen, meeting room and a “private residence” with a “large terrace” on the 7th floor.

According to Reporter.lu, the forced liquidation was ordered by a judge in January 2017 to resolve a lawsuit between family members.

The auction takes place Tuesday 18 September at 2:30pm at the Sieweburen restaurant in Rollingergrund, the law office said. The sale will be conducted by the Senningberg-based notary Paul Bettingen.

UPDATE: Tuesday’s auction of the Hotel International building has been “permanently cancelled”, according to Paperjam. The office of Paul Bettingen, the notary handling the sale, told Delano’s sister publication that it was “prohibited” by law from disclosing the reasons for the cancellation.
