A statement from the government on Friday morning revealed that Paul Konsbruck is to leave his post as Xavier Bettel’s chief of staff on 1 September. He will be succeeded by Jeff Feller, who is currently the parliamentary faction secretary for Bettel’s DP party.

“Mr Konsbruck has invested more than seven years to the service of the state," Bettel said in a press release. “Along with the whole team, I thank him for his commitment throughout this period and I wish him every success in his new role.”

Though no official news of where Konsbruck is headed has been released, the Luxemburger Wort says he is to replace Roger Lampach as CEO of data centre facility and dark fibre provider Luxconnect, which is in charge of the Meluxina supercomputer among other projects. Konsbruck has served as chief of staff since 2016.

Jeff Feller, a jurist and political scientist, has been parliamentary secretary for the DP since February 2019. Prior to that he was a parliamentary attaché and also served on the council of the Ernz valley commune. Bettel said he is convinced that Feller has all the skills required for the new role. “He knows the workings of the institutions perfectly, he has extensive experience in project management and I particularly appreciate his initiative and team spirit,” the prime minister said.
