The promotional event of China International Import Expo organized by Bank of China Luxembourg and FEDIL, which was supported by the Chinese Embassy in Luxembourg, was held in Luxembourg on the 31st May at Circle Cité. Luxembourg Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Mr. Schneider said that the upcoming first China International Import Expo, which has received active response by countries around the world and that covers a wide range of industry sectors, will surely be a success.

The local government and business community represented by more than 100 people present at the event as well as many Luxembourg companies expressed their intention to participate in the Expo.

Mr. Schneider encouraged Luxembourg companies to actively participate in the first China International Import Expo and join hands with their Chinese partners. "The Luxembourg government will fully support this exhibition and local company’s cooperation with Chinese companies."

Mr. Huang Changqing, the Chinese Ambassador to Luxembourg, stated that Luxembourg is one of the world’s major financial centers, aviation logistics center, and a high-tech innovation country. Luxembourg is China's third largest direct investment country in the EU. China has invested more than 10 billion U.S. dollars in Luxembourg. With the acceleration of the new round of China’s opening up process, Sino-Luxembourg cooperation will have a broader perspective.

Mr. Guo Jianjun, Chinese Economic and Commercial Counsellor to the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg said that he welcomed all companies including Luxembourg ones to take the "Express" of China's development and share China's development opportunities.

The first China International Import Expo will be held in Shanghai this November.
