From mass education protests, to cocaine smuggling on the presidential plane (not to mention that porn video), Bolsonaro has experienced a quite remarkable turnaround in public opinion since his inauguration. 

The far-right figure was heralded by many as a chance for something new. But with 40 percent of people saying his government is ‘bad’ or even ‘terrible’ after eight months, this clearly wasn’t the ‘new’ they were looking for.

As our infographic shows, a survey in January had this figure at just 11 percent, with close to a majority saying his government was ‘great’ or ‘good’. Now, only 29 percent are of this opinion.
