Godfrey, who has British-Luxembourg nationality, works as secretary general of a pan-European public health not-for-profit. “I have spent three years campaigning against Brexit and for EU citizenship rights. I have learned the hard way that we need to reformulate a positive story of what the EU is and what it can be. But I also realise that politicians at the highest levels of the EU don’t understand what makes individuals tick, what makes them want to embrace the EU project and what we need to do if the EU is to survive,” she said in her campaign material.
Godfrey is joined on the Volt list by Marthe Hoffmann (Luxembourg nationality), a lawyer specialised in EU competition law, Christopher Lilyblad (American-Luxembourg nationality), a consultant and academic research in sustainable development, Julia Elisabetta Pitterman (French-American nationality), a strategy and operations consultant, Daniel Silva (Luxembourg-Portuguese), an IT trainer, and Rolf Tarrach (Spanish-Luxembourg nationality), president of the European University Association.
