Appeal: Hundreds of migrants and refugees are living without access to medical care and in unsafe conditions in Tripoli, Médecins sans Frontières reported on Wednesday.
The humanitarian NGO currently has aid operations at two sites--an abandoned military base and a farm--where migrants have camped, several of whom are refugees from Somalia, Sudan and other war-torn African nations. Many will attempt to reach Europe via boat, the agency said.
MSF is providing medical care, drinking water and personal hygiene items to the refugees, and some degree of security, as the migrants report fearing attack and harassment by armed men.
The group is also beginning to deliver medical supplies to hospitals in the Libyan capital, while continuing its support of hospitals in the rest of the country, which began in February.
