In normal times, the Cargocenter is the sixth largest airfreight platform in Europe. Today, it is an integral hub for receiving and distributing much-needed medical devices and pharmaceutical products to combat the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

On Friday, Luxembourg transport minister and deputy prime minister François Bauch (déi Gréng) and health minister Paulette Lenert (LSAP) visited the hub in Findel to inspect recent deliveries related to the pandemic response programme.

An earlier call for volunteers to help unload cargo deliveries was successful, Lenert said in a televised conference last Friday. These and other key voluntary and paid roles are being posted on the govjobs.lu website.

Meanwhile, the ministers paid tribute to the cooperation between the Luxembourg Army, Cargolux, CFL, LuxairGroup, Luxairport and the United States’ Warehouses Services Agency, which have helped keep cargo services operational in Luxembourg.
