On Wednesday, The Loadstar, reported that the Findel airport-based freight carrier:

“will now share capacity with NCA through code-sharing and space swap agreements, with Cargolux able to access Frankfurt-Tokyo flights and NCA able to use Luxembourg-Tokyo flights.”

The Loadstar also stated:

“The move will see a minor shake-up in Cargolux’s service: Cargolux Italia will end its Narita operations, but will continue to fly to Osaka once the codeshare starts next summer.”

In a statement to Air Cargo News, published on 29 November, the company said:

“This is a major milestone in Cargolux’s operations to Japan, which, traditionally, has been an important market for Cargolux.”

Air Cargo World reported that:

“The code-sharing agreement will begin during the summer of 2018, and is only the first step towards potential increases in cooperation ahead, according to the airlines.”

In October, Cargolux inked a codeshare partnership with Emirates SkyCargo.

Update, 30 November at 3pm: Cargolux confirmed the details published by The Loadstar and Air Cargo News in a media release sent to Delano on Thursday.
