The second floor of Bourglinster castle, located east of Luxembourg City, has been modernised with the help of the national sites and monuments service and architect Nikolaus Jost.

Among other things, the renovations saw the removal of a ceiling in the Zitzwitz room, which was added in the second half of the 20th century. The entrance was renovated and the chimney facing it has been opened up. The goal is to use the space for receptions, public readings or more intimate gatherings. A number of new furnishings have been added across the first floor, which were tailormade for the castle.

The first recorded mention of the Château de Bourglinster dates back to 1098, since when it has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. The Luxembourg state bought the property in 1968 and the current plan is to make it the headquarters for the meetings, incentives, congress and events (Mice) cluster in the region.

The castle is frequently used to host music concerts, theatrical performances and private functions. It also houses La Distillerie, a highly regarded restaurant run by chef René Mathieu.
