Social dialogue has not always been easy at the International School of Luxembourg. Staff protested in January 2020, which eventually led the social partners to the National Conciliation Office (NCB). This led to an extension of the contract, which is due to end in August.

The 277 employees of ISL can rest easy as an agreement was reached on Friday 18 June between the OGBL, the spokesperson for the negotiations, the LCGB and their employer on the collective labour agreement. The agreement will come into force on 1 September. It will last for two years. It includes a one-time bonus of €480 in recognition of the commitment made during the pandemic.

In addition, the joint OGBL and LCGB press release explains that “health care staff will have their salaries integrated into the salary scale of the teaching staff, and their children will be able to benefit from the reduction in ISL tuition fees.”
