On Thursday, the country’s public health laboratory, Laboratoire National de Santé, LNS, told Delano it had conducted a total 771 tests, of which 53 came back positive. This was up from a total of 660 on Monday.

Since last week testing was also rolled out by private laboratories, although Delano was not able to obtain data on this at the time of writing.

Where do I get tested for coronavirus?

Since Wednesday, three emergency drop-in health centres, or Maisons Médicales, were opened around the country to treat patients with symptoms of a severe respiratory infection. They are found in 59 rue Michel Welter in Luxembourg City; 70 rue Émile Mayrisch in Esch-sur-Alzette; and 110 avenue Lucien Salentiny in Ettelbruck.

They are open weekdays from 8am to 4pm. The authorities are also looking at an option to open a fourth maison médicale in the east of the country. More information can be found here.

Private laboratory testing

Ketterthill has set up four laboratories dedicated to testing for covid-19. These tests are reserved only for people with severe case or complications where a doctor has requested it. The laboratories are in Belval, open Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm, Luxembourg-Cloche d’Or, Monday to Friday 11am to 4pm and Saturdays 7am to 10am, Bettembourg with the same hours as Cloche d’Or and Diekirch, open Monday to Friday from 11am to 3pm, and Saturdays 7am to 10am. On its website, Ketterthill says it is doing its best to give results within 48 hours but delays could occur as demand increases.

Laboratoires Réunis has established three drive-through testing facilities for people with a doctor’s prescription. The drive-through test centres can be found at 38 rue Hiehl, Junglinster (weekdays from 7am to 5pm, and Saturdays from 7am to 11am), at 4 rue Boeltgen, Bascharage (weekdays from 7am to 11am and Saturdays from 7am to 10am) and 1 Marbuergerstross, Marnach (weekdays from 7am to 11am). COO Stéphane Tholl told Delano on Thursday that since starting the three centres have conducted 700 tests altogether.
