Luxembourg’s education minister was expected to make an announcement about early years childcare on Monday.

Crèches only partially reopened on 25 May with reduced capacity because of new measures introduced to avoid the spread of coronavirus. These included rules on having one monitor for five children in a single room at fixed times.

The restrictive conditions forced some parents to remain on leave for family reasons to care for a child.

According to L’essentiel, these restrictions will be eased and opening hours extended starting 16 July. The daily says the wearing of masks for adults inside will remain an obligation along with strict hygiene and physical distancing measures.
