Clement & Pekoe

With a timeworn wooden floor, ceiling mouldings and a vintage mirror with the day’s options scrawled out in white, this city centre spot makes for a highly Instagrammable café. Beyond the luxurious bar, the café’s minimal aesthetic has Japanese influences – even down to their sencha and matcha teas. Yes, not only can you get your coffee favourites (espresso, filter), they also have loose teas a plenty (oolong, green, rooibos…). Plus, they’ve recently set up a second outpost inside the trendy menswear store Indigo & Cloth on Temple Street. And if you’re in a hurry, grab a coffee to go in one of their artsy compostable cups designed by local creative patrons.

Grove Road Café

Many cafés have tried, but none have matched the success of Grove Road café located in the Rathmines area, just south of the Portobello bridge by the Grand Canal. This neighbourhood staple serves up coffee supplied by Roasted Brown that’s roasted in Greystones, County Wicklow. Unpretentious and laid-back, not only do they serve double shots, but they’ve got fresh juices made to order too. Expect breakfast classics (homemade granola or a classic fry up) and all day brunches (hello avocado toast!), and they’ve got you covered at lunch too with soups, sandwiches and sweet treats.

Kaph

This hip new coffee shop on Drury Street will sure please coffee nerds. There’s suave interiors, speciality coffees, cold brews, matcha lattés and even paleo sweet treats. So what are you waiting for? Pull up a pew in the massive window front and watch the world go by. And while you’re there, make sure to grab a branded reusable keep-cup, so you’ll never have to use a disposable one again.
