Ujet gave Luxembourg economy minister Étienne Schneider a tour of the Foetz-based factory on Tuesday when group CEO Konstantin Notman explained that Luxembourg was chosen because of its decision to promote new modes of electric transport under its Third Industrial Revolution strategy.

The scooters, which costs €8690, are foldable and weigh between 43 and 49 kilos, depending on the battery size.

They can reach speeds of up to 45km/h, have autonomy of between 70 and 150 kilometres and can be charged within two hours.

The company said in a press release that it expected the first models to go on sale in 2018 in Luxembourg, Paris, Milan, Monaco and Barcelona.

The company was created in 2015 and is a subsidiary of international nanotech firm OCSiAl.
