Sitting pretty in Milan’s Pizza del Duomo inside the Palazzo dell’Arengio, the Museo del Novecento is dedicated to 20th century art, with a collection that sees Italian masters, Pop Art and Arte Povera rub shoulders with international avant-garde movers and shakers, like Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee and Kandinsky. Meanwhile, to the southwest of the city near the up-and-coming Navigli district that’s defined by its charming canals and trendy bars and cafés, the Mudec is a monumental museum home to ethnographic art and globetrotting exhibitions, with past and present shows on Javier Marin, Frida Kahlo and Jean-Michel Basquiat. While wondering around Milan’s largest park, Parco Sempione, do stop off at La Triennale. This international institution holds events and exhibitions on design, photography, theatre and everything in between.

This summer, Milan is getting musical with the Milano Summer Festival. Expect a whole host of huge gigs happening throughout the month of July, featuring international big hitters from The Chemical Brothers to Iron Maiden, and Justice to Robert Plant.

If you’re looking to tour the world via your taste buds, Spanish restaurant Pulperia offers a taste of Galicia with traditional seafood dishes and tapas, from paella, spicy grilled octopus and black rice-stuffed squid. Or for something a little more Oriental, Wang Jiao has got your covered. Located in Milan’s Chinatown, this modern restaurant with striped-back interiors lets the vibrant traditional dishes do all the talking. However, if you do pang for a tiny slice of local cuisine, head to Trattoria Masuelli San Marco. This 1920s institution serves a saffron-infused risotto with a beautiful yellow hue, dotted with slivers of edible gold. Perfection!

The choice is truly yours with Luxair, with 3 daily flights (4th daily flight as from 29/08/18 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday) running directly from Luxembourg to Malpensa airport.
