A total of €81m in financial assistance has been issued to this end to 218 SMEs over this period, according to the Wort. Seventeen projects were directly covid-related, and they received €20m, including the development of components for ventilators at Rotarex, masks at Fast Diagnostics and super-cold refrigerators at B Medical Systems.

The rest concerned general innovation measures including digitalisation, production conversions and process improvements.

The fund remains open until June.
