Gall represented Luxembourg in the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest. She performed ‘Poupée de cire, poupée de son’ (Wax Doll, Rag Doll), which was Luxembourg’s second-ever winning entry.

The Guardian reported that Gall passed away Sunday morning at a Paris hospital.

Edoardo Grassi‏, head of the French Eurovision delegation, said on Twitter that Gall helped the, at the time burgeoning, competition burnish its reputation.
