Bert Boerman said in a Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (Lhoft) tweet on 19 March:

“After the FinTech Awards everything went into fast forward: clients, funding, publicity, hiring... We couldn’t have asked for more!”

Boerman is co-founder of the regtech startup Governance.com, the top prize winner of the first edition, held in 2016.

This year’s competition is organised by the consultancy KPMG and Lhoft, an incubator and industry promotion group.

First prize, sponsored by Digital Lëtzebuerg, is €50,000 in startup funding, three months of hosting at Lhoft and a free membership, and 10 hours of free consulting from KPMG, organisers said on the competition website.

Second prize is three months of hosting at the Technoport incubator in Esch-Belval.

Third prize is an advertisement in a Maison Moderne publication (the company that publishes Delano).

Some of the prizes can only be granted to firms incorporated in Luxembourg, so check the competition rules before entering.

Applications are open until 30 April. A first round will take place 1 May. The final pitch competition takes place on 20 June.
