- KPMG and Luxembourg House of Financial Technology have announced the shortlist for the Fintech Awards 2017. The jury has reviewed 160 applications, from 46 countries, and narrowed down the list of contenders who will present on 28 June. The 15 semi-finalists are:

- Women in Digital Empowerment, a not-for-profit outfit, has launched its “Startup Leadership” programme. It will support the projects of 10 female entrepreneurs, including the aid of 15 specialist advisors.
- The Luxembourg operations of VP Bank, based in Liechtenstein, are growing, its CEO, Alfred Moeckli, said in an interview with Paperjam. The private bank employs 130 in the grand duchy, and it is looking to hire more staff and expand its offices locally.
- Nearly 300 people attended a symposium organised by the International Association of Lawyers in Luxembourg City on the status of women in the rule of law. Among the speakers were Juliane Kokott, an advocate general at the European Court of Justice.
- The Luxembourg designer Max Steffen has developed a bench that will be installed near European institutions in Strasbourg.
