Former BGL chief Camille Fohl could become the next president of Luxembourg bank BCEE (Spuerkeess), according to Radio 100.7. Delano archive

In an article published by the radio station on Thursday, reporters cite “well-informed” sources as having confirmed that Fohl is the favourite candidate of finance minister Pierre Gramegna.

If true, the proposal will be discussed by the cabinet meeting on Friday.

The successor would take over from current president Victor Rod. According to 100.7’s source, Fohl received the backing of the European Central Bank, which is required in order to accept on the role. Fohl served as president of BNP Paribas Germany from January 2013 until March 2017.
