Discover the programme of Tour events in Luxembourg on VisitLuxembourg Tour de France

The first programme of events has now been published on tourism platform VisitLuxembourg where fans of the world’s biggest cycling race can follow the route and supporting events.

The tour’s third stage crosses Luxembourg on 3 July, with riders arriving from Verviers in Belgium and travelling 115 kilometres near Wemperhardt in the north through Esch-sur-Alzette in the south of Luxembourg. The fourth stage takes place the following day, when people can line the roads along an 11 kilometre loop starting in Mondorf-les-Bains, passing through Burmerange, Remerschen and Schengen before entering France and ending in Vittel.

Luxembourg, which has an established cycling heritage and boasts four Tour de France winners, will host public viewing of the Tour’s first days from 1-4 July. Festivities will kick off on 2 July with street parties, live concerts and a bike festival. The same day the tour route will be closed to traffic from 2pm to 6pm.

The tour “caravan” will arrive on 3 July, distributing merchandise and other goodies to the crowds, from 6pm to 10pm.

The same day, around 12,000 cycle gadgets will be distributed among primary school students in the communes through which the tour passes.

Then, on 4 July, fans can watch the start at Mondorf-les-Bain from 1:50pm, where street parties are expected to be held.

Further events will be added to the programme in the coming weeks.
