Scharfe told Delano that identifying and supporting tomorrow’s leaders, diversity and the promotion of women will be among his focal points moving forward.

"The new generation of leaders, all sectors combined, must present in-depth skills in the fields of sustainability and digitisation, which are also closely linked, in order to understand and anticipate the consequences of the major societal change underway,” Scharfe explained. “Initiated by climate debates extended to all aspects of social order and governance in the meantime, these changes will ultimately impact the behavior of all players in our economy.”

He added: “The active promotion of diversity at the highest level is one of the key elements for the success of our economic order of tomorrow and must be framed in targeted mentoring programs”.
