Kick off the summer festival season in style at Calvi on the Rocks. Sitting on the north-west coast of Corsica, Calvi may be a small town with a sleepy feel, but come the 6th to 11th July, the festival sure wakes the place up. There’s not a muddy field in sight, making for a festival experience with a difference! Think dancing away to a heady mix of electro acts in the glittering sun to a backdrop of azure blue waters, the glitterati’s yachts that line the port, warm golden sand between your toes and views of the 13th-century Genoese citadel jutting majestically from its craggy top. The unique and naturally stunning setting sure adds a touch of luxury and glamour to the whole experience.

Flying over from Luxembourg is a complete doddle: weekly direct flights land pretty much on the festival’s doorstep, as the airport lies only 7km away. The 16th edition of the festival sees numerous electro acts descend on Calvi’s bay, including French talent from the likes of Polo & Pan and Lomepal. But it’s not just all about the music, the festival is pretty serious about food too. Previous years have seen some of the hottest names from the Parisian culinary scene serve festivalgoers gastronomical grub, with the likes of Taku Sekine (Dersou), Inaki Aizpitarte (Chateaubriand) and chef Pierre Sang popping up.
