Luxembourg’s economy ministry rolled out the first edition of “Guide for One Day” from 23 June to 9 July, 2017 when some 37 volunteers showed their version of Luxembourg through 61 personalised and free tours given on foot, bike or Segway.

“Guide for one Day is an initiative that fits in with the spirit of the nation branding process,” economy ministry secretary of state Francine Closener said at the launch of the new edition on Monday. “By focusing on a participatory and sharing approach, the project brings together communities that do not meet often in everyday life and encourages discussion around the qualities and places of interest that are often little known in Luxembourg.”

The 2018 edition should offer even more opportunities to give and take tours as it will run from 30 June until 15 September. Whatever your age, nationality or interest, anyone can volunteer to give a tour. People wishing to offer a tour scan do so before 18 June, including possible dates and times and a short description. Visits should last around 90 minutes and be open to a maximum of 10 participants. Registration for people wishing to participate in a guided tour opens on 18 June.
