- The European Investment Bank sold its first green bond 10 years ago on Wednesday. Over the past decade, the EU development bank, based in Kirchberg, has raised €19bn for environmental and clean energy projects, making it the world leader in the category.
- Brexit and Beps, the new multinational tax avoidance scheme, are causing some uncertainty for private equity fund managers, but sector remains in rude health, according to Vincent Lebrun of PwC Luxembourg. Globally, private equity funds raised $54bn during the first quarter of the year, about $4.3bn more than during the same period in 2016.
- Industrial producer prices were down by 0.1% at the end of May, compared to May 2016, said Eurostat. The figure was -0.4% across the Eurozone and for the entire EU.
- The 2017 Luxembourg Business Compass has indicated a positive outlook by top managers. This year’s business confidence index was 2.3, on a scale of -5 to +5. That is the highest score since KPMG started publishing the annual study in 2009.
- The public service broadcaster 100,7 will start transmitting on a second radio frequency, 95.9 FM, mainly to serve the north of Luxembourg.
