Figures published by Statec, showed there were 190,209 cross-border workers employed in Luxembourg in April 2018, up from 182,515 a year earlier.

The rate has almost tripled, since 1995 when there were 55,000 cross-border workers.

This growth is largely driven by the French, who occupy a third of jobs created in Luxembourg, according to a Ceser Grand Est forecast, predicting that French cross-border worker numbers could reach 100,000 by the end of 2018.

In April, just under half of Luxembourg’s total workforce (419,738) were cross-border workers.
